when designing the installation of active filter, the appropriate device location should be selected according to the different theater power distribution system and load conditions. There are three options for device location under normal conditions:

1. The centralized management method can filter all low-voltage nonlinear loads. Suitable for non-linear load is more dispersed, a single load capacity of small places. The filter is installed in the low-voltage distribution room.

2. In the group management mode, the active power filter device is installed in the secondary low-voltage distribution board, which is suitable for the place where the non-linear load is relatively concentrated.

3. The local management method is applicable to the place where a single nonlinear load produces large harmonic distortion and the distribution is relatively scattered, and the active power filter device is on the nonlinear load side.

The closer the device of the active filter is to the harmonic source, the better the filtering effect. This is the best way to reduce the harmonic current and wave voltage distortion. Due to the sensitivity of the position of the active power filter device, the best harmonic management effect can be achieved according to the design requirements.
